Guido Morelli was born in La Spezia in 1967 and graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Carrara. He has exhibited widely, in shows and art fairs in Italy and abroad, and his works are to be found in a number of prestigious public collections.
Morelli’s refined paintings depict synthetic, vibrantly coloured landscapes. He does not seek to represent real places – his painting is “mental,” thus privileging the dimensions of memory and imagination. The artist focuses on a psychological language of painting, distancing himself from purely descriptive aspects and instead aiming for a powerful fusion of colour and luminosity.
