Olmo Gasperini, born in Rome in 1997, graduated with a degree in Painting from the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan in 2024. His work has already been exhibited by top galleries in Milan and Bologna, as well as Von Buren Contemporary.
Gasperini’s paintings transport the viewer into a suspended space, where the atmosphere hovers between presence and absence. The interiors depicted – empty rooms, steeped in an atmosphere of anticipation and solitude – arise from a direct and spontaneous process, rooted in the observation of his immediate surroundings. Gasperini chooses to work from life, starting with the spaces he inhabits and crystallising a precise moment in time. By focusing on domestic environments and their objects, Gasperini slowly builds up a wealth of seemingly ordinary details which he uses to create a rich, poetic and layered interpretation of everyday life.
