LUCA ZARATTINI

Luca Zarattini was born in Codigoro in northern Italy in 1984 and is a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts of Bologna.  He has exhibited widely nationally and internationally and been the recipient of a number of prestigious Italian art awards.

Zarattini’s current work centres on bright, bold collages. An original, complex layering technique adds to the powerful impact of these new paintings, in which the artist is transitioning away from the use of traditional subjects and increasingly leaning towards the abstract. Colour used as an expressive, emotional tool becomes the dominant factor here in an unhampered expression of joy.
